Pondlife Angels by Enda Walsh (2005)

“…always engaging and often superb… a tribute to Donal Gallagher’s production… flawless control”.
Fintan O’Toole – The Irish Times

Specially commissioned for Cork, European Capital of Culture 2005, Pondlife Angels traces a desperate day in the life of a Cork city checkout girl… mapping out her ever-more nightmarish and frenetic journey through the streets of Cork, as she tries to make sense of her unravelling reality.

Enda Walsh’s searing and visceral love letter to his adoptive home, Pondlife Angels was developed during a week-long residency at The Tyrone Guthrie Centre, with director Donal Gallagher in 2004 (supported by Cork City Council Arts Office).

Co-produced with Cork Midsummer Festival and European Capital of Culture 2005.
